It’s been rather dark and rainy here for what seems like forever. Last night was a bit different. It was raining, but the sun kept peeking out behind the clouds and the outside during sunset was really pretty. I tend to say that I don’t like photographing nature because I don’t think that I’m good at it, but I still try, and it’s kind of fun to play around with the macro mode on my rented 24-70 f/4, and I think that raindrops on flower petals are beautiful and the light falling on my mom’s roses covered in raindrops was gorgeous last night. The photo looked nice in color – the deep red in the peachish light that the setting sun cast on it – but my memory of how my eye perceived it made the color photo look dull and nothing I did to it in post processing seemed to make it measure up to that image in my head. The black and white though… There is something about it that I really like, something that makes it memorable to me.
