We visited Gamla Linköping for the first time this summer. It’s only about a 30 minute drive from where my parents live so it’s surprising that we had never thought of going there before, but I’m sure we’ll be back again next time we go to Sweden. It’s a part of the city of Linköping, where they’ve moved a lot of old buildings from throughout the city to preserve part of the history of Linköping. In addition to it simply being interesting to look around and try to imagine what life must have been like in Linköping centuries ago, there are also quite a few activities specifically for kids. Among other things, there is a science center which was a big hit with my girls, and there is also a petting zoo, where we did not have a chance to go this time because it started to rain. Instead, we cozied up with hot chocolate and freshly baked muffins at small coffee shop before heading back home which is where I captured this shot of my mom and my older daughter having a conversation.
