We had a fun day at the South Mountain Creamery’s Fall Festival today. We got to see how cornmeal is made, how cows are milked, how raw cow’s milk is turned into various products such as cream, butter, yogurt, and ice cream, and, of course, eat some of that delicious freshly made ice cream.
The photo below is taken at the area where corn was turned into cornmeal. I caught my middle child completely spaced out in her own thoughts surrounded by all the big machines. She reminded me of myself as a child. I often got lost in my own thoughts like that and did not notice anything going on around me when that happened.
