My Mom and Dad

Finally they’re here again for the next three weeks. Having my mom and dad visit us here is one of the big highlights of my year. I’m thankful that they’ve been able to make that trip across the Atlantic at least once every year. They’re getting older and each year I fear that it’s the last year they will come, because it certainly isn’t that easy on them anymore. But they’re here now and I couldn’t be happier.

My oldest one had a short day at school yesterday and my middle child’s school was closed, so we decided to go to the mall. I never go shopping at the mall, but my kids love the indoor carousel and palyground at our local mall, so we mostly did it for them. I brought my camera and took a few shots of my parents while at the Mall.

I was thinking for a while which shot I should post of my mom here, but I decided on this close-up one, because I think that there is so much beauty in her face, wrinkles and all, that needs to be shown off. She really does not like me taking close up photos of her, and I think that she was telling me to not be so near when photographing here while I snapped this image and that’s why her mouth is partially open, but she actually was ok with this one when I showed it to her on my desktop screen.

I took this photo of my dad while he was on the carousel with my kiddos. He always wears that hat in the fall/winter/spring season, so it had to be included. I only wish that the hat would have been just a little bit more in focus.
