I’ve been planning to go and see Luray Caverns in VA with my parents for a few years now, but we finally did it yesterday. It was absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous, except there was really no time to take all that beauty in. The guide rushed us from one area to the other and if you wanted to take any photos at all, you missed out on being able to just enjoy any of it. And if you had a little 2-year-old with you who walks very slowly and refuses to be carried, and wanted to take photos, you definitely missed out on being able to enjoy the experience to the fullest. I got a nice photo out of it, despite the conditions being less than optimal. It was relatively dark, so I had to shoot with a wide aperture/low shutter speed/high ISO combo, and my new to me old Canon 1ds III camera is really not made to handle higher ISOs very well. I pretty much expected the photos to be of very low quality, grainy, and blurry. This one I really like though.
