Little people’s emotions are tough. They sometimes get upset over what seems like the most trivial things to us, adults, but in their world those things definitely are not trivial. When we went to visit Luray Caverns with my parents a few weeks ago, we had lunch at the cafe right outside of the caves. It was surprisingly cheap, considering that that place is a tourist magnet, but that’s besides the point. It was a late lunch and we were all pretty hungry. When we had placed our order for food, there was some confusion about where we were going to sit. We finally settled at a table that was not the table that my oldest had thought we were going to sit at. Being a bit tired and terribly hungry, she was not a happy camper. I tried to reason with her and explain why we wouldn’t switch tables once my parents had taken their seats, but it was a no-go. So, instead of continuing the back-and-forth with her, I picked up my camera and captured her upset. I know I’m not winning any “Mother of the Year” awards here, but I like the resulting image. It displays a true emotion, and despite the upset, she is still as beautiful as ever.
